To be clear, Bonds was not a likable athlete even without the cloud of performance enhancement. There is plenty of reason for a cloud of suspicion to follow his every move. If the Mitchell investigation exonerates him, well, I'm doubtful but accepting. But that wouldn't change the fact that I'll be rooting hard for someone - anyone - to overtake his final number.
