Senator Tim Johnson, Democrat of South Dakota, is in George Washington University Hospital after apparently suffering a stroke and undergoing surgery last evening. He is in critical condition, according to the hospital this morning.
Some, including the mainstream press, have immediately jumped to political considerations, as this writer does in the first paragraph. Having lost my father to a stroke last December I can understand the anguish and worry that Mr. Johnson's family is going through. I wish them all the best of outcomes and Senator Johnson a full recovery.
The political considerations are not worth discussing.
