Meanwhile, the Yankees are spanking the Orioles 10-3.
Elsewhere the Indians are deadlocked with Chicago at 3-3, and a win would leave them 1.5 games behind, The White Sox, if they lose, would be 3-9 in their last 12. Houston leads Pittsburgh in the seventh.

9/21/05 0600: LA and Oakland both win, Florida and Philly both lose, the latter to Atlanta. Houston holds on, leading the wildcard race by 2 games, and Chicago falls behind 5-3, then comes back to beat Cleveland. The Orioles made a run, but still lose 12-9 in New York.
