The Sox Move On

The Anaheim Angels are a really good team.  Really good.  Won 100 games.  Very good starting pitching.  Very tough middle of the lineup after adding 1B Mark Teixeira at the trade deadline, with Vladimir Guerrero, Torii Hunter, Garrett Anderson.  A really good team.

And the Sox dispatched them in 4.  Newcomer Jason Bay scores the winning run in the bottom of the ninth on a single by rookie Jed Lowrie, with young lefty Jon Lester dominating the Angel lineup for 7 innings.  He's now on a relatively remarkable run pitching over 22 consecutive scoreless innings of playoff baseball.  They now meet the Tampa Bay Rays, of all teams, in the AL Championship series.  Yowza!
