Furtive Glances - The "I Blame Gore" Edition
I'm tired, so these will be brief. Earlier I wrote about why I blame Al Gore for the current partisan mortal combat. Here are some more looks at Mr. Gore's "influence."
- Ian at Expose The Left has put together a Katie Couric "tribute" as she heads over to the eye. "Some liberals are up in arms" indeed. It includes a fawning interview with ... Al Gore.
- I told you about just one of the many things for which I blame Al Gore. Here's another, in a well-written piece by Holman Jenkins in the Wall Street Journal.
Mr. Gore's next movie should be about the urge to propitiate the gods with sacrifices, a ritual whose appeal did not go out with the Aztecs. Yes, Al, let us give billions to alternative energy bureaucrats and emissions regulators. This we do as a tribute to your shamanism, although it will make little appreciable difference to the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
RTWT.
- John Hawkins at Right Wing News, channeling Fark, has some fun at Mr. Gore's expense.
- Wandering further from the real world, Al Gore has sized up the Bush administration and found them to be ... right-wing extremists.
"If you have a renegade band of right-wing extremists who get hold of power, the whole thing goes to the right," the Democrat was quoted as saying.
"But I haven't moved. I'm where I've always been."
Yes, that's right, the same people who created a huge new government entitlement and are currently at loggerheads with base conservatives over illegal immigration are extremists. Mr. Gore is truly where he's always been.
