Catch-Up Time

  • I blame Al Gore and his going to the mattresses over the 2000 Presidential election for much of the partisan rancor in the nation today.  I think his irresponsible behavior led relatively directly to the development of BDS.

Here are two more examples.  First up is Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now en route to the nearest sanitorium, after ranting that the 2004 election was stolen (article in Rolling Stone).  Without any evidence whatsoever, mind you, other than the irrational supposition that exit polls are more accurate than the actual voting in America.  (For a great takedown of Mr. Kennedy's nonsense, see, for example, John Hawkins mastery of the subject.  And Ian has video of Mr. Kennedy on CNN if you want to hear the insanity directly from the horse's ... mouth.

Then we have a public official, a State Comptroller, shockingly speaking of "putting a bullet" between the eyes of President Bush, a statement for which he's apologized now.  He did so, apparently, at a college commencement address.

I blame Gore.  If you also blame Gore let me know by linking, commenting or emailing.

  • Whoa!  I was just in Toronto.  I don't see my cab driver's name on the list, though.  Ace of Spades surveys the "reality based community" only to discover that the arrests don't exist in their reality.  Canada's our next-door neighbor, for cryin' out loud, not halfway around the globe.  You have to go out of your way to ignore it.
  • Rick Moran catches the BBC playing fast and loose with photos in Haditha.  The same post elaborates on the allegation of an atrocity in Ishaqi, which has been investigated already.

6/4/06 1150: Without further need of emphasis, here is a story on the most recent actions of "gunmen" in Iraq, mediaspeak for terrorists.

  • I was wrong.  I expected that Roger Clemens would sign with the Red Sox, in order to finish his career where he started in order to give himself an excellent shot at another World Series, and in order to pass Cy Young as the all-time leader in wins for the Sox.  But he stayed home in Houston, for a lot of money and for the chance to play in a game in the minors with his son.

Dear Giacomo,

I blame Gore, too. I even linked to that particular post, well done.

Sorry you didn't get the Rocket, but thanks for taking 2 of 3 from the Tigers for me!

BTW, We miss you at the Right Place, stop by some time. You can even help put the blame on Al Gore in our latest caption contest, where you usually do pretty well.

All the best,
Mr Right
