Sigh. Always A Bridesmaid ...
(Note: Typepad has been down all day, and I had intended to publish this early in the day.)
Well, the Weblog Awards are ending, and it doesn't look like I'll be taking home the bacon. In my category it was The Hole Card, closely followed by Mazurland Blog and Army of Mom. Congratulations to the victor.
It's time for the thanks to go out. First, to Mr. Right, who nominated Joust The Facts shortly after graciously asking me to provide commentary on his own blog, The Right Place. Thank you for the nomination, and thanks for letting me contribute to the success of your place as well.
Thanks also to the excellent blogs and bloggers who endorsed Joust The Facts in this contest.
- Ace of Spades:
"Joust the Facts is a very good blog." Ace managed a win for "Best Conservative Blog" over some very tough competition. Congratulations, dude. - Sister Toldjah
- WILLisms.com:
"I like NoSpeedBumps, but the endorsement goes to the doc: Joust The Facts." Will got stuck in a tough category with some funny looking vote totals. - Generation Why?
Jason got stuck in a tough category with some funny looking vote totals. - The Right Place:
Mr. Right - "The strongest of all endorsements possible for a blog so good, I asked the blogger to join me here!"
Me - (in the voice of Gilbert Gottfried) I'm blushing! No, really, I'm embarrassed! - Alarming News
Karol was just profiled in National Journal's "Blogometer." Scroll down for the interview. Karol's endorsement led to an endorsement from... - ...Clareified
- Lorie Byrd
- Sensible Mom, who is, well, sensible.
It means a lot to find that those I hold in high esteem return the favor. I think I got you all, but if I missed anybody then just hit me over the head with a two-by-four in the comments.
And thanks to the several dozen who crossed the burning desert sands, turning their index fingers purple, to vote for JTF. It's been a pleasure doing business with you. I have to leave before Moose and Rocco have to help the judge find his checkbook.
Thanks to you all. This has been fun.
12/18/05 1440: Kevin Aylward sums up the awards here. My suggestion? Have the vote counts be visible for a couple of days, to establish an early line, then blank it so you really don't know who's leading until the end.
