I Know I Said I Wouldn't..
...blog much more about the CBS Memo fiasco, unless something quite newsworthy happened. But I'm weak, and well, two posts on the subject caught my eye.
BummerDietz, at Scylla & Charybdis, who has been crawling through the innards of this story, had said in an earlier post " It seems to me that Memogate will now fade, unless new facts are developed." Then, the next day, he noted the name of Dotty Lynch in the CBS report. She is, as she describes herself and he elaborates, a...:
...self-described "very ardent feminist" and longtime partisan liberal political operative (her mullet and turtleneck fooled me...). Before joining CBS, Lynch directed polling for George McGovern, Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy, Gary Hart, Walter Mondale and the DNC.
Go there to read the entire post and find out her involvement, as is known so far in the story. And for the life of me I can't figure out why CBS would hire someone with that background to be a "Senior Political Editor", can you?
And at Power Line, of course, an article in the Washington Times by William Campenni was discussed that gave yet another reason that one of the forged memos could not have been written. If Mr. Campenni is accurate in what he presents it's still more evidence that the CBS panel did not, er..., complete the assigned task, shall we say? I'll give you a hint - it's very hard to get the camp physician to perform your physical when the base is closed.
